Is Trollstralia a tag it should be

IT IS NOW
talking to internationals about our money is kind of funny
WHY DOES IT HAVE LITTLE WINDOWS? WHY SO PLASTICKY? WHY SO BRIGHTLY COLOURED?
best part is there are good reasons for all of these things :D:

oh my god shut up guys I love our money
our money is normal everyone else’s is weird :|

Australian money is the actual greatest. Which idiot decided other countries’ notes should all be the same colour scheme? Do you know how much time you save at the checkout? A BUNCH. A BUNCH OF TIME. AND TIME IS MONEY. AWESOME PLASTIC AUSSIE MONEY.

Plus each value is a different size.

Obligatory link to Note Printing Australia who are amazing. They not only print Australia’s bank notes and passports, but also the notes of New Zealand, Mexico and Brazil. They are world leaders in anti-counterfeiting currency design and printing and were shortlisted for production of the Euro. In fact their Euro design was of a higher quality and value than any other proposed; but a decision was made that the currency had to be printed in Europe (perhaps unsurprisingly).
Credit where it’s due too; the names of the designers of each note are listed on the Reserve Back Australian Banknotes Page.

Aussies also have the upper hand with money that doesn’t rip..

Actually, I once gave a $50 note to an American with that statement. What do you know, turns out it does rip in half when subjected to enough force…
